Polarization transfer to the rho meson

This drawing shows the photon polarization transferred to the produced rho meson and the subsequent decay of the rho to two pions. The angle, psi, is the one between the plane of the photon polarization (parallel to the floor here) and the decay plane of the rho (which contains the two pions).
